I am a self-taught artist specialising in paper collage and mixed media. Since 2018 I’ve been Artist in Residence at the Art Bank in Shepton Mallet and the Creative Director behind exhibitions such as Alice in Rubbishland and Shepton on Show.
My work is inspired by the notion that ‘the world is full of magical things.’ I don’t use computers to create my collage; it is authentically produced, only with the materials I can find. This self-imposed rule makes it more challenging for me, and therefore more interesting. I get inspired by looking everywhere I go for materials, whether in nature or in old books or magazines. This ‘recycling’ is key to my practice.
This is reflected in my other work, which includes photography and book gardens.
Commissions include work for the NHS and private collectors in the UK and Greece. I’ve been awarded funding from Arts Council England and a number of charitable trusts and have worked on projects funded by the National Lottery, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Somerset Skills and Learning. I'm available for commissions in collage, decoupage, photography and book gardens.
